In 2008, during a near fatal car accident, Sarah sustained very severe brain trauma, which left her physically and mentally paralysed.
Swallow is a new multi channel video installation that explores the religious, philosophical and ethical consequences of waking up with neurological damage. In dealing with the complex experience of coming back into consiousness with a severe head injury and not completely knowing the person you had once been, the work asks broader questions about perception, subjectivity and how we come to discover our spiritual position in the world around us.
